Tunisia signs multilateral agreement on fiscal co-operation and strengthens its links with the

Tunisia signed the Convention on Mutual Administrative Assistance in Tax Matters

This Convention, a multilateral agreement developed jointly by the Council of Europe and the OECD, is the most comprehensive multilateral instrument available for tax co-operation and exchange of information. It helps counter cross-border tax evasion and ensures compliance with national tax laws, while respecting the rights of taxpayers.

Tunisia is the third African country, after Ghana and South Africa, to sign the Convention since it was opened for signature to all countries in June 2011.

The Secretary -General and the Tunisian Prime Minister also signed a Memorandum of Understanding which will allow Tunisia to share its expertise with the 34 member countries of the OECD, in order to boost efforts to find a driving force for economic and social change, as well as environmental development.
